I've been wondering what the significance of using "extremely" and "incredibly" is. After they've come up in the book, and seem to be doing so increasingly, I think Oskar lives by these adverbs, and he's just trying to figure out what should go after them. This is why we see them constantly, because he's "testing them out". While it can be annoying at times, I believe it will be an important finding in the book.
I agree with this. He is trying to find the right word to fit after them. I also think that these words are describing him and his personality so he is trying to find words to fit after that that reflect him as a person.
ReplyDeleteI think that saying that Oskar lives by these two words is very accurate. I think many of his actions are over the top and exuberant, that he is a unique individual with a lot to offer to a lot of different people and we find that he is making extreme and incredible impacts on people as he is searching for the lock.
ReplyDeleteI think the reasoning behind these certain words will become more apparent as we continue to learn more about Oskar. But I agree with Summer in that he is making extreme and incredible impacts on people. Every person he has visited seems to be impacted by Oskar, enough so that they would go see him in his play, after meeting him only one time.
