Oskar
is very curios about why things the way they are. He is constantly questioning
how certain things came to be and always proposing “ what if’s…” when an
ambulance passed between his apartment building and his grandma’s, he goes off
on a excursion about what life would be like if we could know who was in the
ambulance and how severe the emergency was. He also goes off on a departure
about the sizes of the pockets. These many thought processes; that he has very
often throughout the book, make me wonder if these questioning feelings are
apart of his autism or if he is naturally curious?

I agree with the first part of your commentary (which is for some reason in a larger font), but when it comes to the second part it seems obvious that Oskar is mentally disabled. I don't believe anyone's mind processes like his, frequently thinking of "inventions" and things like that. If you also read through his conversations with other people, like the limo driver for example, he has no idea what Oskar is saying. Oskar even admitted himself that sometimes people look at him or say "What the?" after he speaks to them. This came up in one of the earlier posts. To clarify, Oskar is forsure mentally disabled.
